On Friday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Amangeldy Zhumabayev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.
The Ambassador congratulated V.Lytvyn on his appointment to the post of Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
A. Zhumabayev expressed his hopes that election of V.Lytvyn to the post of Head of Ukrainian Parliament would give incentives to the development of inter-parliamentary bilateral relations.
The Ambassador called for promotion of activity of groups of friendship at the parliaments of both countries, in view of the fact that their work had been suspended recently.
On his part, V.Lytvyn called for restoration of the dialogue at the inter-parliamentary level. The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine invited the parliament members from Kazakhstan to make a working visit to Ukraine.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed that inter-parliamentary cooperation was particularly important in view of the problems that existed in the economic sector of both countries under the conditions of economic crisis.
Moreover, the Ambassador emphasized that Ukraine was one of the main trade partners of Kazakhstan.
The Parties deem necessary to exchange the experience of overcoming the financial and economic crisis at the legislative level. A. Zhumabayev expressed his willingness to study relevant experience of Ukrainian parliament members.
Dwelling upon the political situation in Ukraine, V.Lytvyn stated the importance of holding a dialogue at all levels of authority in order to overcome the consequences of the financial and economic crisis.
